Description:
Grading for Growth is a professional learning series designed to support middle and high school leaders and educators in making the shift to standards-based grading. Rooted in research and best practices, this series offers a deep dive into grading systems that better reflect student learning and support continuous growth.
In order to engage in this work, we require at least two instructional leaders from each district (principal, instructional coach, department chair, etc.). Includes one on-site or virtual coaching session with each district. Includes one copy of Making Grades Matter: Standards-Based Grading in a Secondary PLC (A practical guide for PLCs and standards-based grading at the secondary education level) per participant.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will gain an understanding of the purpose and principles of standards-based grading.
- Participants will understand the importance of creating assessments aligned to standards.
- Participants will create a transition plan that supports students, families, and colleagues.
This workshop is offered to those districts participating in CESA 10’s School Improvement Consortium (LS1a) Services at $300/person including: Abbotsford, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eau Claire, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Owen-Withee, Spencer, and Thorp.
The cost for all other participants is $440/person.
