Growing Student Language in Math

Description:

The mathematical practice standards expect students to "construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others." In this one day workshop you will leave equipped with resources and strategies to support math discourse for ALL students.

Learning Outcomes:

• Participants will engage in strategies to support the Math language development (oral and written).
• Participants will develop supports, scaffolds, and implementation plans to grow student language in math class.
• Participants will acquire a knowledge of the Math Language Routines that were designed to support growth in a variety of language-focused skills.

This workshop is offered to those districts participating in CESA 10’s School Improvement Consortium (LS1a) Services at $200/person including: Abbotsford, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eau Claire, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Owen-Withee, Spencer, and Thorp.

The cost for all other participants is $300/person.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the event to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours or no-shows will be charged the full registration fee. Substitutions are welcome.

CESA 10 may cancel events due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. If the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District closes for weather, CESA 10 events are also canceled and will be rescheduled if possible. Notices are sent via email through Neon One–please ensure your contact information is up to date and emails aren’t going to spam.
